  • Doyle G. Hughes, 86, of Donaldson, went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2016. Doyle was born in DeRoche to Robert and Josie Hughes. Doyle is a member of Prairie Bayou Church of Christ. Doyle loved to work in his garden. Doyle also enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and loved listening to Bluegrass music.

    Doyle is preceded in death by his parents, 5 Brothers, 2 Sisters and his first wife Vada Morrison Hughes.

    He is survived by his wife; Mary Hughes, Sons, Garvis (Patricia) Hughes of Donaldson, Larry (Linnie) Vaughan of Hot Springs and Jonny (Karen) Vaughan of CA;  Daughters, Martha (Kenneth) McDermott of Donaldson, Sharon Brock of Hot Springs; and a Brother, Raymond Hughes. Doyle also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

    Services will be held to honor Doyle on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Prarie Bayou Church of Christ. Visitation will be will at 1:00 PM one hour prior to the service.

    Pallbearers will be Tom Hill, Phillip Hughes, Shane McDermott, Dray Williams, Wayne Hughes, and Clayton Branstetter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Tommy Barton, Ethan Purifoy, and Dylan Clayton.

    I am deeply saddened at the news of Doyle passing. May God comfort the family during this time of sorrow. Doyle will be deeply missed by many. My prayers will be with this family.

    MAY THE LORD HOLD YOU ALL IN HIS ARMS AND COMFORT YOU. DOYLE WAS A MAN WHO LOVED LIFE TO THE FULLIEST. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM. JANE MORRISON
